Breast Lift
The surgical name for a Breast Lift is Mastopexy. The procedure is performed to move a droopy nipple to the proper position on the chest. There are two basic forms of mastopexy. The Vertical Mastopexy which is used when a small amount of skin has to be removed and the nipple needs to be lifted a small distance. It results in a “lollypop” type scar. The Wise Mastopexy is used when large amounts of skin must be removed the nipple has to be raised a long distance. It results in an “anchor” type of scar. Breast implants do not raise the nipple position on the chest wall in most cases.
Breast Lift with Implants: Breast implants can be placed at the same time the nipple is lifted if the client desires larger breasts. Either of the lift techniques; however, the Vertical Mastopexy is used in most cases.
Breast Reduction: Every breast reduction includes a breast lift. Either technique can be used to perform a breast reduction. The breast reduction removes breast tissue to decrease the size and weight of the breasts. The breast reduction procedure can relieve back and neck pain in some clients. |
